Shutting the Voices Up

Christian Voice . Do you remember them? They were at the origin of the protest against Jerry Springer the Opera and later against the broadcast of the show by the BBC. They have also blackmailed a charity into refusing funds raised for them by the cast of the show. Finally, they fight an ongoing compaign against the Gay Police Association and all things gay in general. Well, those evil doings have finally paid up. There very own bank, The Co-Operative Bank has just chucked them out; asking them to close their accounts because of their negative attitude towards diversity. And the beautiful thing about this is that people generally approve . I have already sent a message of support to the bank and am now considering transfering my accounts to them. If you want to get in touch with them to congratulate them on their stance, please email at ethics@co-operativebank.co.uk

You'll Do For Now

This is it! After several months of work on my own (I really thought there would be people in that Committee of mine). After fighting people's apathy and with much invaluable help from MFD (and I am not just saying that because he reads this blog). The promotional campaign for You'll Do For Now , the London Gay Men's Chorus' next show is about to start. Yesterday a couple of emails were sent to the whole Chorus asking why the microsite was still not on line and reminding us (well, me) that time was ticking. Like I don't know it! Yet I don't see these same people volunteering to flyer or to help with the stall we are having at Pride . I didn't see these people at any Committee Meeting and I certainly never got an email from them asking if they could help. I am not moaning about that actually. To be honest, I find it easier to do things myself. What I resent however is that these people don't know what they are talking about and seem to imagine that thing

Not Dead Yet

If anyone is reading this blog, they might have been slightly concerned, I realise that. My previous two posts were rather of a serious nature and then nothing for what? two weeks? But here I am, back for one quick post at least. It's just that I have been busy, you see, recently. As you might know I am now in charge of the marketing destiny of my choir and with a new show coming at the end of July, we are all busy preparing the marketing campaign (Next week we should be able to launch the microsite dedicated to the show. Watch this space!). This implies finding ideas to let people know about the show on the tightest of budget. We can't even afford advertising and will have to use flyers and posters only with the hope of some editorial content here and there. This week focused more specifically on getting the promotional material right which meant spending a lot of time boring MFD (he is designing the things) to death with talk of the Chorus.
